Unfortunately, BAC's senior mens' team was a little thin on the ground, with the result that, despite some excellent performances, we start the season 7th in Division 1, but at least we have a team position, and there is time to climb up the table towards last year's finishing position of second. The team was led in fine style by Mark Hargreaves, in 17th place, the first V50 to cross the line, and only one place behind the first V40. Mark was well supported by the next three of the BAC team, Jon Sharkey (21st), Simon Munro (28th) and Ian White (32nd). So far so (very) good! But Ian Habgood, who arrived coughing and sneezing, having just recovered from 'flu, and not having run at all for some time, didn't complete the race - a very sensible decision on his part! - which meant our fifth scorer was Ian Graham, 151st, which completely devastated the final score! Although we're still in the team race, we do need some more to turn out for the next event at Goodwood on 16th November. However, the vets' team (Mark Hargreaves, Ian White and Ian Graham – who was the first V60 of the field) leads Division 2.
Fergus O'Reilly was another BAC star of the day, comfortably winning the U17 mens' race. Following Fergus were Jamie Grose in 19th position, and Aaron Walrond who was 29th. This placed the U17 mens' team in 4th position.
We had no fewer than 6 athletes competing in the U15 boys' race, whose combined performances placed the team in 7th position. The team consisted of Joshua Nevin (6th), Declan Toth (21st), Sam Walrond (35th), J Arundel (36th), Brendan Kirkton (38th) and C Norton (40th).
