Hampshire League, Hudson's Field, Salisbury - 12 February 2011

On a fine, sunny day, nine BAC senior/veteran men competed in the final Hampshire League fixture of the season, and secured the senior men's position in Division 1. Although not as spectacular as last year, at the end of which the senior men's team were second, this is a highly satisfactory finish, bearing in mind that, in recent years, promotion to Division 1 has been followed by relegation to Division 2, before promotion again, etc. Rob McTaggart led the team home, finishing in his highest position of the season, followed seconds behind by club captain, Simon Munro. Rob Hardyman, clearly enjoying his excursion into Cross Country, was our third scorer, and Tony Chutter (who was the first O50 of the day) fourth. Completing the team was Joe Price, competing in only his second Cross Country race.

Many congratulations to Simon Munro and Rob McTaggart, who finished 10th and 12th respectively in the Individual Mens aggregate positions for the season.

The BAC vets team also had some reason for satisfaction, finishing 4th team (Division 2) on the day. Of course, this was helped considerably by the early finish by Tony Chutter, the first BAC vet home, the other team members being Simon Hunt and Ian Graham.

Also competing at Salisbury were two U15 boys, namely H Horton-Hill, and the ever present Brendan Kirkton.

Jemma Bates, in previous seasons a regular at Hampshire League fixtures, made a welcome return to compete for the one and only time this season.
