Lychett 10 - 20th February 2011
A total of 13 BAC athletes competed in the Lytchett 10 mile road race on Sunday 20 February, and collected a number of the awards, and, on a hilly and demanding course, PBs were achieved. The team prize went to Wimborne AC, who also topped the League table for this race, but an informal analysis of the results appears to show that BAC was the second League team, though this is subject to confirmation. Congratulations to club captain Simon Munro, who continued his habit of running PBs, and also collected the prize as 3rd overall (Simon was the 1st Dorset runner home). Congratulations also to Paul Chapman, Michael Halpenny and Joe Price, who also achieved PBs, and to Andy Gillespie, who ran his quickest 10 miles for a number of years, and was within 20 seconds of his PB set some time ago. Well done, too, to our other prize winners, namely Tony Chutter, 1st M50, and Janie Chapman, who won the prize for 3rd lady overall, and, but for the rule preventing one person collecting more than one individual prize, would have won the 1st lady veteran award. We extend a warm welcome to Helen Ambrosen, who has been training with us for a little while now, who competed at Lytchett for the first time in a BAC vest, finishing 2nd FV50.
