Rotrary Quarter Marathon - 23rd April 2011

This race showed, as did the Lytchett 10, that BAC are not going to have everything their own way in the League this year! In the Rotary Quarter Marathon, from Boscombe Pier on Easter Saturday, 23 April, no fewer than five of the mens' teams vyed for the win, with welcome competition for BAC from Poole Runners, Poole AC, Wimborne AC and Littledown Harriers. If this continues for the rest of the year, we can look forward to an exciting League, perhaps with the final results depending on the last race!

This was a race BAC didn't win, and it isn't clear till the League results are published whether we're in 2nd or 3rd position (Poole Runners are the clear winners). But all credit to our athletes who competed, particularly Ian Habgood, a remarkable 2nd overall, and Gaeme Miller, both of whom were still recovering from the London Marathon less than one week earlier.

The pressure's on! The League is only one third through, and we're going to have to work to retain our title!
