Mad March Hare 20 - 11th March 2012

On a glorious spring day, Steve Way regained his confidence after (in his view!) a disappointing run in the Bramley 20, by winning the Mad March Hare 20 mile race on Sunday 11 March by a clear margin. In second and third places were Jon Sharkey and Jacek Cieluszecki respectively, giving BAC a 1, 2, 3. Jon and Jacek (like Steve) were running a 'paced' race, rather than racing flat-out, and at 11 miles were running together, well behind the then second and third runners, who must have been a little surprised to see Jon and Jacek catch up and overtake! Graeme Miller and Richard Nelson were BAC's fourth and fifth scorers, resulting in a comfortable League win this time (subject to confirmation). Congratulations also to Steph Slade, who took the prize for third lady overall, and Ian Graham and Paul Consani also ran according to, or better than, their planned pacing, indicating that BAC marathon preparations generally seem to be progressing well, and those tough Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions are paying off!

Results (BAC):
1. Steve Way 1.49.36; 2. Jon Sharkey 1.58.56; 3. Jacek Cieluszecki 1.59.05; 20. Graeme Miller 2.12.35; 32. Richard Nelson 2.18.43; 36. Steph Slade 2.20.54; 45. Ian Graham 2.23.33; 62. Paul Consani 2.28.09. There were over 350 finishers.
