In the penultimate Road Race League race of the year, BAC's Senior Man fielded a team strong enough to take the prize for the second team in the open event, and third team in the League, at the Wimborne 10 mile race on Sunday 18 November. The team has already won this year's League, so it is pleasing to see BAC continuing to compete at this level. Poole Runners were the strongest team, their athletes finishing first and second, but in third place was Jacek Cieluszecki, seemingly recovered from his Marathon. Club Captain Simon Munro ran yet another PB, to finish very shortly behind Jacek in fourth place, and another athlete who, it appears, has recovered (very quickly!) from a marathon is Graeme Miller, who ran comfortably within the hour, to win 1st V40 prize. The open team was completed by Jon Sharkey, and, a little further down the field (having run 30 miles the day before!), was Jez Bragg to complete the League team, followed by the ever-present Andy Gillespie. Janie Chapman is also making a welcome return to form after her injury, and gained the 2nd V45 prize, and it was pleasing to see Helen Ambrosen competing again, probably having lost some form after a considerable period of reduced (or no!) training resulting from work pressure and a house move. Janie and Helen now lie second and third respectively in the new Championship table.
3. Jacek Cieluszecki 55.55; 4. Simon Munro 56.18; 11. Graeme Miller 59.32; 17. Jon Sharkey 1.00.43; 43. Janie Chapman 1.06.29; 84. Jez Bragg 1.10.23; 133. Andy Gillespie 1.14.28; 180. Helen Ambrosen 1.17.02; (437 finishers).
