Round 3 of the National Athletics League Championship (Fixture A) was our first home fixture of the season which took place at Bournemouth athletics stadium, Kings Park on 2 July 2022.
It’s just a year after the new track was laid and many guests commented on the great facility which we are proud to call our home. BAC were competing against participating clubs Basingstoke & Mid Hants AC, Chelmsford AC, City of Liverpool, Crawley AC, Herne Hill Harriers, Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers, Reading AC.
We finished in fourth place, out of the eight clubs, in what was a tough and exciting competition. The high winds presented a real challenge in the back straight too but our athletes took it all in their stride – literally!

This was a great result and now the official points have been calculated, BAC are placed 9th in the table out of 16 clubs in the Championship division. We have 1101.3 points, just behind Herts Phoenix1099 with 1109 points. This is a good position going into the final match at Bedford on Sunday 21st August – put it in your diaries!
An enormous well done and thank you to every athlete that competed. A special thanks to the athletes that stepped up to fill in events at the last minute!
Thank you to all of the officials who made this event possible. What a superb Team Effort!
