Club Membership
The objective of Bournemouth AC (BAC) is to help athletes realise their full athletic potential which we do by offering training facilities, coaching and competition throughout the year.
We are able to take children from the age of 8 and have Development Sessions on Wednesday nights specifically geared to give younger athletes an introduction to the sport. There is a significant demand for this Junior Development Group and whilst we have expanded our coaching team to maintain the quality of training given, there is currently a long waiting list for the Wednesday Night sessions.
We would welcome anyone willing to help in the running of the Club and those interested in doing so should contact the Club. It really is a very rewarding experience. The Club has a budget to assist with the cost of attending the relevant coaching courses.
Potential members are welcome to visit the Club before joining.
Coaching is conducted by qualified UK Athletics Coaches (DBS checked). The Club operates specialist training groups, although the younger athletes are encouraged, through the Wednesday Development Nights, to try all athletics disciplines.
The Club expects all members to compete and operates in a range of athletics leagues and competition, from local district through to National level. This gives each athlete the opportunity to develop their potential and encourages team spirit.
The Club is based at Kings Park Athletics Stadium, Bournemouth. The main training times are:-
DAY | TIMES |
Tuesdays | 6.00pm – 7.30pm |
Wednesday Junior Development 1 | 6.00pm – 7.30pm |
Thursdays | 6.00pm – 7.30pm |
Sundays | 10.00am – 12.00pm |
1 from 8 years upwards
Options are available for a range of training on the track, grass or on roads. Individual groups/coaches may have further arrangements.
The Club is entirely run by volunteers, thus ensuring that athletics is a cheap sport. The Club pays all League Affiliation fees for Track & Field, Road and Cross-Country Competitions.

As well as your Membership fee, you need to pay a training fee for use of the Kings Park track.
This can be paid at each Club session, or you can buy a Season Ticket to cover your training fees for the whole year. This results in a considerable saving if you are intending to train on the track regularly. The current training costs are available from the Training Page

Season Tickets entitle holders to train on the track at Kings Park during the periods booked by Bournemouth Athletic Club (unless the purpose of the booking is inconsistent with individual training) without further payment provided the holder can produce his/her Season Ticket on request by an official of the Club.
Season Ticket holders may also use the Kings Park track at other times provided it is not in use by any other organisation, and provided the holder can produce his/her Season Ticket on request by Council Staff. If it cannot be produced the holder will be required to pay the current Council fee for use of the track.
