Set up to help raise awareness of Movember and Men’s Health issues, MoRuns take place up and down the country and featuring distances of 5k, 10k or Half Marathon. Bournemouth AC man Paul Bolton competed in the Poole version of the race which took place at Upton Country Club. He opted for the Half Marathon distance.
Having ran six of the Dorset Road League fixtures this season and the chance to make it a seventh at the Boscombe 10k, Paul hasn’t been afraid to tackle some testing courses. Amongst those he has competed in were the Portland 10, the Stur Half and the Gold Hill 10k.
Completing the course in a chip time of 1 hour 55 minutes and 52 seconds, Paul’s average pace for the run was 8:44 and that despite a fair few undulations amounting to 439ft of elevation.
That was a good enough time to put him in 43rd position overall and 12th in the vet 50+ category. the race was won by Richard Martin in a time of 1:27:35. Samule Heritage was 2nd in 1:33:09 and Bradley Dawson was 3rd in 1:34 34.
Sophie Potts was first female in 1:39:40 which put her in 9th place overall. That was just enough to prevail over Anna Chapman who crossed the line in 1:39:54. Then it was Rebecca Bradley arriving in 1:40:13 which made her 3rd female and 11th overall.
A couple of weeks later Paul would be lining up for the final race of the the Dorset Road League season which was the Boscombe 10k. Since it would be his seventh race of the season, Paul would then be counted in the individual charts for the season, having fulfilled the required quota of races.
