The Southern Athletics League, Match 3 was the second home fixture of the season. It certainly turned out to be a much stronger performance than the previous two matches.

Our BAC athletes put in great effort in their individual events as well as filling other events for points. Some even stepped in at the last minute to fill events.

Everyone’s hard work paid off to secure an excellent 2nd place finish. This was a huge improvement on the last 2 matches and will hopefully give us the boost we need to continue as we’ve jumped two places from the bottom of the division.

A huge thank you to everyone who turned up to compete, officiate and support the SAL teams – it was another well hosted event!

The next match is on the 13th August in Peterborough and we need to take another strong team and fill as many events as we can.

It will be a long day but with a big turnout and a strong team, there’s a realistic prospect that we can get ourselves out of relegation over the last 2 matches!

If you are available and want to come and join the fight, get in touch with Adam Nicholass (Men’s Team) or Jemma Bates (Woman’s Team). There will be a free coach from Kings Park to Peterborough, as well as plenty of fun and banter along the way and on the day.
